Sarah Packington

Designer: Sarah Packington

Sarah was born in London in 1969. She studied Wood, Metal, Ceramics and Plastics (BA Hons) at Brighton Polytechnic 1988-1991, where she experimented with different techniques for dying acrylics, and decided to make a career in jewellery design. After graduating, she learnt about the jewellery trade at The Workshop in Lewes, then moved to her own workshop in Brighton and on to Rose Hill Workshop in 1994.

Sarah’s jewellery illustrates her love of bold colour combined with simple, graphic forms. Most pieces are laser cut from acrylic sheet, while bangles are cut from tubes. Sarah applies texture, scored lines and a final polish to add interest to the dyed surfaces. She designs by playing with combinations of shapes and patterns, constantly doodling. Sarah’s Jewellery has a slightly Retro yet contemporary aesthetic, and is highly finished with silver findings to give a luxury feel.
