Black Blades of Grass Wide Acrylic Cuff

A striking black and clear, 45mm wide cuff handmade from glass quality acrylic that is 100% recycled and recyclable. Sue’s inspiration for this bracelet design came from Humbug childhood sweets!

This cuff is textured using blades if grass and then hand dyed. It is crafted using Sue’s own techniques which she refers to as ‘fossilized plastic’, due to the fine detail captured on the embossed surface of the acrylic.

Sue Gregor

By designer: Sue Gregor

Sue links the natural world with the man-made by marrying acrylic with plants to produce beautiful and individual acrylic contemporary jewellery. Her work is a celebration of the organic and the inorganic, the industrial and the natural.

Each piece is individually handmade using real flowers and leaves to create the designs. The plants and weeds that grow in front gardens, wastelands, in hedges and along paths are a rich source of material. Sue collects, dries and presses the leaves and flowers and then uses them to create the designs using a ‘fossilising’ process that she has developed herself. The leaves perish in the process so each piece is unique as all leaves and flowers differ from each other.
